Dental Visit...

In honor of Dental Health Month, we had the friends at  ACS' Dental Clinic visit us!  We learned all about how to brush and take care of our teeth!
We even teamed up with Mrs. Collin's class, it was so much fun!
Waiting for the fun to begin!

This is the molinator!

She was so funny!

All eyes on her!

We watched an Elmo song about brushing our teeth!

We learned that if you brush 2x a day, your teeth will be BRIGHT and SHINY!  The teeth lit up!!!

Here is the Elmo song!  It is SUPER catchy! :)

With my best,

Our newest family member...

This weekend, I took my kiddos to Petco!  Little did I know, I'd be leaving with a new family member!  There were a few guinea pigs up for adoption and I absolutely fell in love with one little girl named Annie!

The kids are SO EXCITED!  We could hardly contain ourselves until center time.  During centers, I called friends up in small groups to meet Annie AND to make a set of rules for her.  They came up with some interesting ones!

Caitlyn, Lila Grace and Caden meeting Annie.

Ford, Margo and Minha meeting Annie.

Jessica

She is PRECIOUS!

She doesn't like photos ;)

I have a feeling she's going to be spoiled rotten! :)
She is only 1 month old, so teeny tiny!

With my best,

Valentine's...

Last week, we worked on SO many Valentine activities.  I only caught a few pictures. :(
We began our week with a Valentine Bee Glyph!
If you look at the key, you can tell what each piece means.

Here they are hanging in our room!

They are so cute!

James and Minha working.

Jesse and Jayden working.

Diya

We also delivered our Valentine's!

I hope you enjoyed your Valentine magnet AND the Valentine keepsake book in your child's Friday folder!

The Opening Ceremonies...

Last Friday, CWES had our very own Opening Ceremony for the Olympics!  We met as a school in the gym for this special event!

One child's name from each classroom was drawn out of a hat to be a torch carrier.  Ford was our winner!   Here he is posing with the torch before the ceremony! :)

Our friends sitting so nicely!

Waiting patiently to begin!

Lighting the torch.

Aren't they precious!?

Love it!

The whole school!

All of the countries flags were shown on the big screen and their national anthem played.  If you had that countries flag, you stood up!

It was such a wonderful and meaningful experience!

I hope you get to share a bit of the Olympics with your child at home! :)

Penguins Part II

We finished up our penguin this week!
The tear/stuff crew got to crumble up pieces of scrap paper, ball them up, and stuff inside the body of the penguin!
Emma Sue, Johnson and Ryan

Margo and Johnson

Caden and Margo

The painting crew added the finishing touches (yellow and orange).

Our penguin is on display right outside our classroom.

The habitat crew created an iceberg for the penguin to be in front of as well as two blocks of ice to stand on!

Our web of facts we've learned.

The writing crew met and each friend wrote an entire page of penguin facts.
This is Ryan's.

Our chart showing which type of penguin we wanted to make.

This is a poem we learned when we first began our study on penguins.

We've had so much fun learning all about penguins!  As a treat, I hope you will enjoy the penguin book Lost & Found in your child's Friday folder today! :)
