Welcome back!

Welcome back families!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday break!  Today we only had 15 friends at school, but we kept rolling and got a lot done!  We completed a snowman glyph, it's even hanging up in our hallway!  WOW!   Here are some pictures...
This is the key for our glyph.

We will complete our data analysis once the other 6 friends are back and complete their glyph!

We had a great first day back!  I can't wait for next week!
We will be learning all about Jan Brett for shared reading.  And we will be learning all about PENGUINS during our theme time!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Gingerbread Party!

In celebration of the holiday season, we decorated gingerbread houses for our party!  A HUGE thanks goes out to Mrs. Easley, Mrs. Bardwell, and Mrs. Bentley for coming on Wednesday to put our houses together! Without them, the party would not have run as smoothly as it did!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Here are a few pictures of our party today!  Thank you to those parents who sent in items (you also made this party happen) and also to those who came! :)

I hope you have a wonderful winter break!
Merry Christmas!
Love,

Holiday fun...

Throughout the month of December, we've been participating in some very exciting holiday activities!  I hope you enjoy this picture walk through a few...

We spent two full weeks reading different versions of The Gingerbread Man, comparing and contrasting two each day!  We also tasted gingerbread to see if we liked it!  All 21 friends did, of course!  And we did a science experiment where we put the little gingy in water to see what happens (if he were to swim across the river vs. riding the foxes tail)!  Turns out, he will MELT!  OH MY!

Not only did we complete a gingerbread man glyph, we also did a reindeer glyph as well!  This class LOVES the glyphs and if you ask, can tell you what each piece means!  They are so smart!

We are having some MAJOR holiday fun! :)

Hometown Traditions Day!

We recently had CWES' first every Hometown Traditions Day!  This was a day where we going to travel to different rotations all outside the school in celebration of our favo
rite teams.  Due to the EXTREMELY cold and RAINY weather, we had to improvise!  We had all of the rotations, but in our room and in the gym!  Here are a few pictures...

We started with a little boot camp with Coach Robert (via the smartboard)!

Next some very sweet volunteers came in to paint our faces!!!!

We got to have Toomer's lemonade and roll Toomer's Tree!!!!

Aren't they precious!!!

Last, but not least (remember it was a 1/2 day), we had a pep rally in the gym!  The AHS band, AHS cheerleaders and Samford the Tiger were there!  It was AWESOME!

It must have worked, Auburn WON!!!
War Eagle! :)
