Shapes, Auburn Reads and Class Pets!

This week has been a FULL week!  We've had a lot going on!  Take a look...

First, we have NEW class pets!!!!

Meet Lizzy our Gecko Lizard...

She is so much fun!

Also our fish: Thing 1, Thing 2, Goldie and Callie...

Since we've been learning about shapes for the past two weeks, we made a shape pizza!

 The kids chose their toppings and then we counted and recorded how many of each shape they had.

Last, but not least, this week was AUBURN READS kick off night at the mall!  I snapped a picture of three of our friends that were there when I was, but many more of you came!  In the Spring, there will be a ceremony where your child will get to walk on stage to accept their certificate!!!

Week THREE Adventures!

To finish up our All About Me adventures, we made a bus with the first letters in our name!

 

When learning about colors, I don't focus on the actual color, most kids know those by kindergarten, my goal for the kids was for them to learn the color WORDS.  We did lots of practice activities with these color words.  Hopefully, with your help at home, we can add those color words to our list of sight words we will know by the end of kindergarten!

We did a gummy bear color sort!

After reading Mouse Paint, we had to mix colors of our own!

For our September bulletin board (outside our room) we completed All About Me glyphs!

Our second glyph was our House Glyph.

The windows represent people and animals that live in your home.
