October's Explorer of the Month!

This go around for Explorer of the Month, we sat in a circle and kids had the opportunity to nominate a friend if they could tell the reason(s) why.

We had 3 nominees and some wonderful reasonings!

We took a secret vote (they put their heads down so no one would have hurt feelings) and TRIPP was chosen!

Congratulations Tripp for being our October Explorer of the Month!!!

Talk Like a Pirate Day!

On Tuesday, September 19th, we had Talk Like a Pirate Day!

We dressed as pirates to kick off our 100 Book Club for Kindergarten and AR (Accelerated Reader) for 1st and 2nd grades!

When we first arrived at school, we read a book called "Shiver Me Letters" about pirates who were on a hunt for LETTERS! Afterwards we looked through magazines and found all the letters in the alphabet! We made a chart and it's hanging in our classroom!

Look at these KIDS! OH MY WORD! You'd think I taught 2nd grade!

We spent the day doing so many fun pirate activities and reading books to go along with our activities!

September Explorer of the Month!

This year, CWES has started something brand new! We will have Explorers of the Month every month!!! For the month of September, Mrs. Kimbrell chose our Explorer to model expectations. We talked about how an Explorer of the Month is a friend who is a good listeners, makes good choices, is a leader, responsible and respectful!
