This week we've been learning all about APPLES! It's been a great mini-theme to get the kids interested and ready for our big yearly theme: the rainforest! Take a picture walk through our apple adventures this week...
We began our week learning about the life cycle of apples! We will do more with that next week! Oh how I wish we had an apple orchard near Auburn, I myself have never picked an apple off a tree, how fun would that be to take the kids to do!!!!
We also tasted a green, red and yellow apple and graphed our favorite! Yellow and red were very close!
The kids were FASCINATED with our apple cutter! It was great! :)

Tre is coloring his apple to graph! He liked red!
Jessie is debating on whether she liked red or yellow the best!
Jakarii is really concentrating!
On Friday, we made our very own baby apple pies (the look more like turnovers, but the kids LOVE THEM)! If you want to make them at home, they are super easy! You need:
- 1 can of regular-sized biscuits
- 1 can of apple pie filling
- cinnamon
- sugar
You press/roll out a biscuit into a large circle. Add a few spoonfuls of apple pie filling. Folder over the biscuit and use a fork to seal the edges. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake according to the can of biscuit directions. We baked ours for 14 minutes at 350!
They are unbelievably easy and fun to make with your child!
Beth Ann rolling her biscuit.
Righley "smooshing and pushing" as we called it!
Jakarri is really getting it!
Macy is sprinkling the cinnamon and sugar mixture on top of her pie.

Jessie and Kristen rolling out their dough.
Jacob and Ezra stayed with me during the entire time we made our pies! They were so excited and BIG helpers!
Stay tuned for part II next week! Don't forget to sign up for Parent Conference Day (the link is in this week's newsletter AND for Remind101 class text messages (you can see an earlier blog post about this and there is a flyer in your child's folder today).
Have a great weekend! Make some memories!
With my best,
