This week we've been learning all about pumpkins!  We've focused on the pumpkin life cycle.  We have read books about, and completed our own pumpkin life cycles...

They had to color, cut and glue in the correct order.
We have some ROCKSTAR cutters!!!!

We also had a popsicle party (last week) for turning in our yellow parent involvement forms first in the whole school!  Here are a few pictures...

On Friday, we made a pumpkin life cycle book to read to you at home!

Mileigh and Ryan

And last, but not least, we learned how to do a new math game: Roll a Spider!  The kids love rolling the die, and covering up that number on the game board!  It is now in our game center for the kids to play when they want!

This week...

Hello...long time, no post, huh? :)
I am so sorry for the lack of posting!  This week was assessment week, where I assess each child for the kindergarten checklist!  It is extensive and time consuming, therefore no pictures from the week! :(
HOWEVER, Thursday we got a new bunny for our classroom!!!!  She is a rescue bunny, so we were able to name her!  Since there is a bunny in the CWES courtyard already, Daisy...and our bunny is joining her, we had to have the names rhyme!  So the kids selected Maisy!  Maisy is absolutely precious and is enjoying her first day in the beautiful courtyard!  She's not hiding at all, hanging out and showing off for everyone to see!  Here are a few pictures...
She spent Thursday in our room so that we could get to know her!

She's in heaven right outside our window!

I promise to post a lot next week to make up for our assessment time! :)
Stay tuned...
With my best,

Chicka Chicka ABC...

As you know, our classroom and 24 other classrooms in Auburn, are participating in a local ABC exchange!    We took this opportunity to use our ABC exchange as our very first project...making a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree to display our letters.

We began construction on Monday, and by Tuesday we were done!  WOW!  Super fast! :)
We cut holes in paper grocery bags and rolled them up into circle-like shapes.

This was the final outcome.

Diya, Kyla, Madison and Caitlyn working.

Also, on Monday, Mrs. DeShazo came to volunteer in our room!  She took small groups of children out into the hallway to make our letter Z's!  We had to make 26 Z'S (we will also make 26 K's too)!
The children voted to make our Z's into Zebras!

This was the final product!  Aren't they cute! :)
Thank you so much Mrs. DeShazo for coming to help us!

This is our completed tree (with three of our letters climbing to the top)!
We slid all of the brown paper bag circles onto a carpet roll.  The top is an old umbrella with green material for the leaves!

So far, we've only received two other letters (aside from our own)...
Mrs. S. Jones' class here at CWES made a Blue Bow B!

Mrs. Shelton's class here at CWES made X-ray X's!

I will post more letters as they come in! :)

Shape Party!

On Friday, we had a SHAPE PARTY!  This activity was SO MUCH FUN!  We went around the table and named what shape each food was!  Then we got to eat!  Here are a few pictures...

This is only a little bit of what we had!
