Since the weather was going to be so cold on Saturday night, on Friday we were getting Maisy's cage ready for her to come in.  We ran out of FLUFF!  So we brainstormed and improvised!  The kids are cutting strips of paper!

On Monday, October 28th, it was the 50th day of school!  In honor of this special occasion, Mrs. Kimbrell dressed up in full poodle skirt attire (the kids did not get it), and we did some fun activities!

Here we are for a class photo with our records!

We played a game...race to 50!'

Pumpkin Adventures...Part 1

This week we've been experimenting and investigating PUMPKINS!  We have so many activities to share with you, I will break it up into a few parts! :)
This is part 1...
We began with a Jack-O-Lantern glyph!

Our finished products!

Next, we played ROLL, ADD and COLOR--a Pumpkin Math Game!  They loved this so much!  It took team work!  Each child rolled a die, and then they had to add them together as a pair to find the pumpkin to color!

On Wednesday, our investigations with our real pumpkins began!
We weighed our pumpkin...and it weighed 21 pounds!!! OH MY!  Thank you to Kyla and her mom for such an awesome pumpkin!

We measured how many links it would take to go around our pumpkin...32!!!

And using cubes, we measured to see how tall our pumpkin was...18 cubes tall!

Stay tuned for Part II!
