Seussical the Musical!!!!

Today we traveled to Auburn High School for Seussical the Musical!   It was AMAZING!!!!!   I was a little nervous to take any pictures, since you aren't supposed to take photos in performances.   I took a few class pics at the beginning and then took a chance and snapped a few of the cast at the end! :)

I have to brag, I'm about to burst with pride...the little girl in the middle with the big orange bow, is a former student of mine!!!!   :)

I hope that you will take the opportunity to take the family to see it!

April 24 through 26 at 6:30 p.m. and April 27 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each
To reserve/purchase tickets, please call 334-887-4913

Tomorrow is D day:  DESTINATION field trip to Suessical the Musical.  Please be sure to have your child to school promptly at 7:45!   They have a sticker on today with which type of lunch you signed up to do!  Please plan accordingly! :)

Today...

Today, we've been on a roll!  In honor of Earth Day tomorrow, we've started reading and learning about it!   Today during centers we made a handprint Earth and listed ways we can help our planet!
Kaili was the land!

Johnson was the water!

Minha was water too!

Our finished project!

I hope you've been hearing all about our grass!  The kids are LOVING that it looks like hair coming out of their head!  LOL!   We will bring these home tomorrow, in honor of Earth Day!

Last, but not least, we got to hold our baby chicks today!!!   They were finally old enough to come out from the heat lamp for a bit for us to hold!  Miss Hawkins had the camera in the courtyard with the sea turtle painting, so I only got the last two groups!

A special visitor...

Friday, Mrs. Cooper, a teacher here at CWES, called and asked if she could bring her ball python, Tiger, up for a visit!  I jumped at the chance!   We had an impromptu snake lesson!
Mrs. Cooper & Tiger

Excuse the blocks in the middle of the floor!   She visited us during centers and we dropped everything for our lesson! :)

She slithered around her neck the whole time! :)

Johnson got to pet her.

Mileigh loved Tiger!

Sea Turtle Update...

The sea turtle is coming along nicely!   Since this was a paper mache' animal, it's taking some time!   :)   Here are a few updates...
The habitat crew worked diligently to create the sea turtle's habitat right outside our door! :)
John is cutting the water.

Ford cutting the water.

Minha cutting waves.

It looks awesome!!!

The painting crew met today and began the last step of construction!!!

What a gorgeous day to paint!   We are so blessed to have the courtyard right outside our door!

Our cups (planters) have our face on them!!!
We planted grass seeds in them.  Once they grow, it will look like we have green hair!   Super cute! :)
